Lloyd F. Talbert, 90, of Fulton, died Sunday, May 11, 2008. He was born June 27, 1917 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Jones) Talbert. He married Helen Woolery on April 13, 1941.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Talbert of Fulton, one daughter, Robin Mason of Mulberry, Arkansas, five grandchildren, Donna Ford of Fulton, Rebecca Dykehouse of Columbia, Schuyler Simpson of Warrensburg, Melissa Morrison-Reys of St. Louis and Kevin Morrison of Mulberry, Arkansas, three great-grandchildren, Dalton and Jaedon Ford of Fulton and Cullen Dutton of Fulton.

He was preceeded in death by one daughter, Vickie Simpson and one brother, Jay Talbert.

Mr. Talbert was a World War 11 Veteran. He enlisted in the Army in April 15, 1943. He went over seas with the 17th Air Borne on August 1944 where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He also participated with the Glider Troops in Operation Varsity. His decorations include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal and three Bronze Stars.

Mr. Talbert and his wife owned and operated the Fulton News Agency for forty-three years. He was also a member of the Fulton Masonic Lodge #48, Fulton VFW Post #2657 and the Anerican Legion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 15, at Debo Funeral HOme in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will recieve friends on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
