The funeral of Cecil Baker, 87, of 513 E. James St., Eureka, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Eureka. The Rev. Gordon Barrick will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Olio Cemetery in Eureka, with military rites performed by American Legion Post 466.

He died at 10:23 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 13, 2002) at Heritage Manor, Minonk.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Baker was born Jan. 15, 1914, in McLeansboro, the son of Robert Dean and Dora Buchanan Baker. He married Minda Young Jan. 25, 1941. She died in 1975. He then married Helen L. Burrell Aug. 16, 1975, in Eureka. She survives

Also surviving are one daughter, Barbara (Cecil) Franke, Runge, Texas; one stepson, Kenneth (Joan) Burrell, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Pat (Don) Horn, Danvers, and Carol (Everett) Myers, Eureka; one sister, Bernetha Wilson, Eureka; one brother, Herschel Baker of Texas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and 23 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one stepgranddaughter.
