Marvin L. Kelly Sr., 68, of East Second St., Corning died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
He was born October 4, 1942 in Elmira, NY the son of the late John and Marian (Palmer) Kelly. He married Dora Divens (Paris) Kelly on September 3, 1966 in Riverside, NY.
Marvin was a graduate of CFA (Class of 1961). He was a retired Supervisor for the City of Corning DPW.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dora Kelly of Corning; daughters, Debbie (Tom) Szkapi of Lindley and Donna (Brian) Nelson of Campbell; sons, Marvin (Theresa) Kelly Jr. of Monterey and Clifford (Nancy) Paris of Campbell; sisters, Maryann (Raymond) Jakubowicz of Rush and Clara Schmick of Florida; brothers, Charles (Maria) Burgess of Maryland, James (Dena) Burgess of Ohio and Bill Burgess of Bath; grandchildren, Marvin (Roberta) Paris serving in Afghanston,, Mitchell Kelly, Marvin Kely III, Rich Kelly, Jessi Nelson and Diana Nelson; great grandsons, Landon and R.J. Kelly; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Howard and Shirley McFall, Barbara and Larry Waxman, Dan and Carol Divens, Don and Freda Divens and James and Barbara Divens; several Aunts, Uncles and cousins; Beloved buddy, Spooky. He was predeceased by a grandson, Brett Edwin Kelly.
The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home, Corning on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Chris Durham Officiating. Interment and Committal prayers will follow services at Presho Cemetery, Lindley, NY. Honary Pallbearers are Mitchell Kelly, Marvin Kelly III, Rich Kelly, Michael McFall, Howard McFall III and Eddie Crawford.
