Nicholas Carlan Doub

PFAFFTOWN - Mr. Nicholas Carlan Doub, 18, of Pfafftown passed away on January 9, 2011. He was born in Forsyth County to Mitchell and Carla Snow Doub. Mr. Doub was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and active in the Youth Choir. He went on three mission trips to Indianapolis, IN, Baltimore, MD, and Clarkston, GA. He attended Fellowship Baptist and was a member of River Oaks Community Youth Group. Nicholas was an Eagle Scout with troop 942 at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He was an honor roll student and senior at Reagan High School in Pfafftown, where he was active in a variety of school activities. He was a member of the track team and earned his varsity letter in Cross Country and Band. He was in the symphonic, marching, and jazz bands. Nicholas was an active participant with the academic team, spirit club, and youth & government club. Nicholas had a lovable personality; was a friend to everyone and was loved by all who knew him. He led at least one teenager to Christ. Nicholas brought joy to his family and friends as well as everyone he met. Nicholas was preceded in death by an older brother, Jeremy Mitchell Doub. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Mitchell and Carla Doub; brother, Andrew Doub; sisters, Rebecca and Emily Doub; grandparents, Edgar and Eunice Doub, Charles Snow, and Laetitia Day; uncles, Charles Snow, Jr. and Richard Doub; aunt, Terry Doub; cousins, Lucas and Logan Doub; and a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of his life will be on Thursday, January 13, 2011, 6:30 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church before the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reagan High School, c/o Randi Norris, 3750 Transou Road, Pfafftown, NC 27040. (The funds will be distributed between the American Red Cross, a scholarship fund in Nicholas's name, and to help offset medical expenses).
