Kristi was born in Hiawassee, Ga on December 20, 1970, and was a lifelong member of the area. She was a member of the Crossover Community Church in Blue Ridge, and was active in Missions in her church, Kristi was a board member for The Wilderness Scouts Of America for several years.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her- especially her mother, Jo Ann Cornwell, of Blairsville, her father, Harold L. Arrangements entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Ga.Human remains found Saturday in Union County have been identified as those of Kristi Cornwell, who has been missing for over a year.
Identification of the skeletal remains was confirmed Monday morning by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, said GBI spokesman John Bankhead.
Cornwell had been missing since Aug. 11, 2009, when she disappeared while walking near her Jones Creek Road home in Union County, just across the line from Fannin County, at about 9 p.m.......
