Procopio was born in Tucson, Arizona to Procopio and Rosa Serna Palacios, the first of nine children. He married Jenny Hernandez in 1930 and they had two daughters. After his first wife's death, he married Rosalva Burgueno. They had six children and lived in San Diego, Paramount, and Beaumont, CA. He was proud of his 25-year government service as an electronics mechanic at the San Diego and Long Beach Naval Shipyards. He enjoyed a 35-year retirement in Beaumont and Hemet, CA., strumming his guitar into the sunset. RIP, Papa Pete
