Pontiac - (PNS):

Wilfred L Pittenger, 65, died at 2:20 p.m. Friday in St James Hospital after an illness of one year.

He was taken to the Raleigh J Harris Funeral Home, where services will be conducted by the Rev Clifford C Brown, pastor of the First Methodist Church, at a time to be set later. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery.

Mr Pittenger was born Dec. 14, 1888, in Willard, Kansas, a son of Wilson and Mary Louise (Armstrong) Pittenger. He came to Pontiac with his parents as a small child, and remained here throughout his entire life. He was deputy circuit clerk of Livingston County for 15 years, and had been employed for the last several years as a bookkeeper for the Pontiac Granite Company.

Surviving are one brother, A L Pittenger, Cato, New York, and one sister, Mrs Gladice Byrne, Pontiac. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Mr Pittenger was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and the American Legion.
