" … The great grandson of Hannah's oldest brother John Ole Enger sent me information that he had obtained from Norway. Ole Sigvart Larsen Enger and Lovise Petronella Olsdatter came to America with five children in 1870 and had two more in Wisconsin, the youngest being my Grandfather, William Frederick Enger born in 1876."-information provided by Find A Grave contributor, Karen S, via email January 19, 2019.

Hannah Enger married Benjamin Peter Nelson (1861 – 1930) in 1882 and their first son was born in Saint Thomas, Pembina, North Dakota. Her children: Lawrence Aledo (1885 – 1959), Peter Benjamin Nelson III (1886 – 1937), Nellie Louise Nelson Estes (1891 – 1986) and Charles William (1906 – 1990).

She lived in Saint Thomas, North Dakota most of her life, moving to be with her children in Chico in the 1930's.=Contributed by H. Lallo

Chico Enterprise-Record, Saturday, March 3, 1951, pg 2 col 3: Hannah M. Nelson Taken by Death. Hannah Martha Nelson, resident of Chico for over 25 yrs, died at the home of her son Laurence Nelson on East 20th Friday after an illness of more than a year.

She was born February 18, 1864 in Boscobel, Wisc [sic, see above]. Several years later her family moved to Mona, N.D., where she received her early schooling. In 1880 she married Benjamin H. Nelson. They later moved to St. Thomas, N.D., where he husband farmed for many years until his death in 1930.

In 1924 she came to Chico where she resided with her son until the time of her death. She was active for many years in the Assembly of God Church of Chico.

Surviving relatives are two sons, Laurence and Charles William Nelson, both of Chico; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Estes of Chico, 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Huddleston Funeral Chapel with Rev. R. Orchard, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Chico Cemetery.
