Fred W. Teela, Retired Farmer and Implement Dealer, Passes Away Today
After an extended illness, Fred W. Teela, 84, retired Winnebago and Green Lake County farmer, and former Ripon farm implement dealer, passed away this morning about 9:30 o'clock.
He resided with a daughter, Mrs. William Stutzman, 55 Harrison Street. Death occurred there.
Mr. Teela came to Oshkosh about six years ago. Previous to that he had operated farms near Omro and Winneconne, after coming to Winnebago County from Ripon.
He was born in Germany, Nov. 15, 1849, and came to America at the age of 9, his parents settling near Wrightstown, Wis. He was married 56 years ago to Miss Augusta Nohr in Brown County, and she passed away 16 years ago.
TRAVELED IN GERMANY
Mr. Teela farmed in Green Lake County. He sold farm machinery at Ripon for about 25 years. As a representative of the International Harvest Company, he traveled to Germany three times. He moved to a farm near Omro about 28 years ago and about 20 years ago took over the management of a farm at Butte des Morts.
His survivors include six sons, Richard, Oshkosh; Louis, Chicago; Lee Teela, Winneconne; Warren Teela, Oshkosh; Elmer, Winneconne; and Fred Teela, Havre, Mont.: five daughters, Mrs. Oscar Morse, Oshkosh; Mrs. R. J. Thacker, Chicago, Mrs. F. Harry Hull and Mrs. William Stutzman, Oshkosh; and Mrs. F. A. Haller, Chicago; besides 14 grandchildren.
Mr. Teela was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge.
Arrangements for the funeral were not completed today.
