Lurabelle Murphey Laughlin '33 passed away in May 2009. She was 94. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Elmer and Lluella Murphey. Predeceased by husbands William and Harry and stepsons Michael and Dennis. Daughters Linda Galbally Boyers '60 and Robin Galbally Martin '64, stepsons Timothy and Jere, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive her.

She was an elegant woman who led a charmed life filled with her passions for travel, Russian history, gardens and laughing with her friends. She was a member of the Valley Hunt Club and the Garden Club of America. She attended Poly, Westridge, UC Berkeley and UCLA. No services were held. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Planned Parenthood, Boys & Girls Club, Doctors Without Borders or the Pasadena Public Library.
