John and Elsa Marie with the four oldest children sailed from Esberg Denmark on April 6, 1907. They crossed the North Sea on the Danish ship LaCour. Then sailed from Liverpool England on the White Star liner Oceania to Ellis Island New York. They arrived in Remsen Iowa (the Rollag place) on April 22 1907, then to Ruthton Minnesota, then to the fraction at Booge South Dakota (the farm was the last strip of land in Minnesota. They lost the farm during the depression years, They then moved to a farm near Beaver Creek Minnesota until Martin retired to a small house in Beaver Creek.
