Evelyn Cleo Camp Carter passed away quietly in Bells, Tennessee, May 31, 2010 after a long illness. She was 90 years old. Evelyn was born on May 27, 1920 in the Kelley Community of Wellington to the late Cliff and Grace Lewis Camp. She married Lynn Carter June 23, 1940. She was a graduate of Wellington High School and West Texas State University and taught elementary school at Wellington for 35 years. A lifelong pianist, Evelyn taught private lessons for many years, and during her last years in Wellington,she served as pianist for the First Christian Church. She enjoyed making quilts and knitting, playing bridge, traveling, antiquing, and spending time with her beloved friends and family. Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Terry Joe, in 1953 and her husband Lynn in 2002. She is survived by a son, Leigh Carter and his wife Kay, of Ruidoso, New Mexico, daughter Andrea Woods and husband Arthur of Jackson, Tenn: three grandchildren, Stephanie Woods Denton, Stuart Woods, and Emily Carter, and two great-grandsons, Noah Woods and Carter Woods.
