Funeral services ofr Herschel E. Adams, 80, of Hanson, Ky., formerly of Cadiz, were conducted on December 7, 2002, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville, Ky. Rev. Tom Branson officiated the services. Burial followed in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, Ky.
Mr. Adams died on December 5 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Ky.
Mr. Adams was born December 12, 1921, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late Pruitt Northern Adams and Minnie Goble Mitchell.
Mr. Adams was the owner of Adams Construction Company, Adams Farms and a retired land developer. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of 63-years, Charlotte L. Adams of Hanson, Ky.; two daughters, Suzie McCrady and Janet Vaughn, both of Hanson, Ky.; two sons, Herschel Eugene Adams jr. of Ashbyburg, Ky., and Thomas Adams of Hanson, Ky.; three sisters, Hettie Crossman of Eustis, Fla., Nell Thomas of Louisville, Ky., and Mary Outlaw of Cadiz; one brother, Van Adams of Cadiz; several half brothers and half sisters; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
