Mr. Jeffcoat died Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Born in Swansea, he was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Jeffcoat and Claudia Bell Godbold Jeffcoat. Elvin was founder and builder of Swansea Evangelical Church, which is now known as Open Bible Baptist Church, where he pastored for 13 years. He was director of Faith Baptist Bus Ministry. Elvin was a member and deacon of C.L.A. on Bush River Road and was a partner with Amazing Love Outreach Center. He was a contractor and president of Corley Mill Builders until it closed.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary R. Jeffcoat of Swansea; daughters, Sharon Taylor and her husband, Bruce, and Samantha Jeffcoat; sons, Elvin Jeffcoat Jr., and Rev. Eric Jeffcoat and his wife, Debbie, all of Swansea; sister, Deloris Crawford of Gilbert; brother, Malcolm Jeffcoat and his wife, Marilyn, of Swansea; grandchildren, Trace Jeffcoat (Keri) of Wagener, Contessa Struckman (Isaac) of Gaston, Brock Jeffcoat (MaryAnn) of Lexington, Shane Jeffcoat (Kaila) of Columbia, Kevin Jeffcoat of Swansea, Tony Taylor (Christy) of Swansea, Adam Taylor (Shannon) of Italy, and Kyle Taylor of Swansea; and great-grandchildren, Will Padgett, Gabriel Struckman, Trenton Taylor, Kaelyn Taylor, Gray Wilomovsky, Ben Wilomovsky, Autumn Foster and Aaron Hallman.
