Preceded in death by husband Joseph Daniel (J.D.) Survivors include: children, Joseph M. Casey Sr. and Catherine Casey, Martha Casey Koeppen, Omaha, and Carolyn Casey, New Braunfels, TX; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews, and triple great nieces and nephews. Louise was the daughter of Charles Meyers (Pappa) and Julia Etta (Meyers) Barner, born in Belle Plaine, KS, at the Barner family home. She enjoyed completing high school in Atchison, KS, while living with her sister Mary and husband Thomas B. Portwood, school principle. Louise continued her education at Emporia State Teacher's College, securing a job teaching grammar school in Norton, KS. She was married to Joe Casey by the Catholic Bishop in Concordia, KS in 1931. The family moved to Omaha, where they founded The J.D. Casey Company in 1947. Louise retired at the age of 95 from the family business to assist her daughter, Carolyn and son Joe, establish a Home Instead Senior Care Franchise in New Braunfels, TX. Our gratitude to the many people who cared for her in numerous capacities throughout her life enabling her to continue inspiring them in their own journey through this life on earth.
Vigil service following 4-7pm VISITATION at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Thursday, Dec. 16; Funeral MASS is 10am Friday, Dec. 17, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, New Braunfels, TX. Final resting place, Mission Burial Park South, San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, MEMORIALS may be sent to Duchesne Academy, Creighton Preparatory High School, or St. Cecilia Cathedral.
