"Passing of a Pioneer Mother
"Mrs. Maria D. Frodden, 89, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. V. Luhisen, Wednesday in Alameda, after a prolonged illness. The news received here Thursday by Mrs. William Deiss, a relative, caused regret.
"Mrs. Frodden was a relative of C. R. Riewerts, Councilman Chris Riewerts, and Mrs. Deiss. She also left a number of friends including the Herman Hagedohm, Fred Paysen and C. Staats families.
"Surviving the pioneer is her husband, V. M. Frodden, her daughter, Mrs. Luhisen; grandson Robert E. Luhisen, Alameda. The Carlson Brothers of Petaluma are nephews. Much of Mrs. Frodden's life had been spent in Alameda, where her husband has been superintendent of streets for 23 years."
Source note: Additional information from the California Death Index (Maria Froden) & member Locator (#47092515).
