He owned and operated the Wakley Manufacturing Co. in North East for 30 years. He also owned and operated the Wakley Grape Farm and was a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Wakley and Robert Wakley; and a sister, Jessie Knapp.
Survivors include two daughters, Nanci Lee Allen* and her husband, Gary, of Westfield, N.Y., and Marjorie Dora Wakley of Mesa, Ariz.; three sons, Raymond S. Wakley and his wife, Carol A., William H. D. Wakley and his wife, Mary, and Jeffrey L. Wakley, all of North East; a stepdaughter, Diane Ray of North East; a brother, Donald Wakley of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Mary Kreusch of Erie; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be at North East Cemetery.
