David was the son of the Ellis O and Mearl (Hayes) Moore. He was born on December 21, 1947 in Norwood, Missouri and departed this life on December 5, 2010 in the Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri at 62 years of age.

David grew up in the Norwood area and graduated from Norwood High School in 1965 and then joined the United States Air Force. After his obligation from the military, he returned home and enrolled into Missouri State University. To make extra money, he started selling fireworks out of a station wagon and soon founded and became owner of Red Rocket Fireworks which he operated for the next 24 years. He became known to everyone as "Crazy Dave," especially during the firework season. He was also the owner of the Hydra Slide in South Springfield which was enjoyed by many people in the surrounding areas in the 80's and early 90's.

David was a generous man and took great pride in helping people succeed. David had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. He loved working and playing outdoors. In the most recent years, his time was spent at Bull Shoals Lake fishing and just having fun. His biggest passion was his horses. David had many friends and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father: Ellis Moore, on April 25, 2007. He is survived by his son: Marty Moore and his partner, Brian Pendergrass, of Springfield, Missouri; his mother: Mearl Moore of Norwood, Missouri; his fiancé: Sarah Dority of Climax Springs, Missouri; three brothers: Eldon Moore and his wife, Vola, of Elkland, Missouri, Lonnie Moore and his wife, Lorna, and Jerry Moore and his wife, Tammy, all of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; two sisters: Janice Goad of Springfield, Missouri and Debbie Heim and her husband, George, of Lamar, Missouri; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
