She was born May 19, 1927 in Louisville to Benjamin G. and Yola May (Jackson) Lenhart Sr. She was a member of the former St. Clements Catholic Church and attended St. Paul's Church. Mary Lou retired from Valley Community Day Care, where she worked for 20 years. She was a talented artist and enjoyed sketching and oil painting.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Walter Harlow Maeser; and a sister, Ruth Ann Baum.
She was survived by eight children, Dianne Marie Burkes (David), Janice Lynn Lattus, Nancy Lee Davis (Danny), Sherry Winders (Tim), Walter Wayne (Elizabeth), Stephen Denis (Nora), Robert A. (Kelly) and Mark David Maeser; two brothers, Patrick and Benjamin Lenhart; one sister, Judith Tyree; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010.
