Rev Frank S Doremus of Christ Episcopal church, Houston, officiated at the funeral services and burial was in Morton cemetery here.
Mrs Mitchell's husband, Harris Mitchell, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs Sinclair Dyer of Richmond; a grand-daughter Miss Edlow Jean Dyer of Richmond; a brother W L White of San Antonio, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs Mitchell was one of the few surviving members of her generation who saw Fort Bend county grow from a wilderness to a thickly populated busy area.
Pallbearers were Robert Bassett, Winston Bassett, Frank Salmons, Hugh Williams, Dick Rice and E W Ranson. The Richmond Funeral Home directed the funeral.
