HOMERVILLE — Eloise Stalvey Strickland, 85, passed away Monday (Nov. 29, 2010) at Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born July 21, 1925 to the late James Franklin Stalvey Sr. and Mary Emma Kirkland Stalvey.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Homerville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jackson "Bill" Strickland, her daughter, Mary Olive Cribbs, her son-in-law, Bill Cribbs, two sisters, Juanita Smith and Frances Stalvey, and a brother, James Franklin Stalvey Jr.

Survivors are her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Will and Stephanie Cribbs, Tallahassee, Fla.; special friends, Melissa and Nathaniel Hendley, Homerville; several nieces and nephews and several other relatives.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Homerville First Baptist Church. Internment will be in the North Cemetery, DuPont.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
