Son of Ezekiel and Catherine (Hall) Lockard. Husband of Annie M. Lockard.

Altoona Mirror, Monday, 27 July 1903:

"Thomas R. Lockard, a well known resident of Logantown, died quite unexpectedly of heart failure at his home, 218 Walnut avenue, shortly after midnight Saturday night. Mr. Lockard and his son worked about the home Saturday afternoon and at supper he ate heartily. He retired in his usual health and at 11:30 he became violently ill. Dr. J.U. Blose was hastily summoned but Mr. Lockard died before anything could be done to save him.

Deceased was born in Hopewell, Bedford county, April 22, 1842 and had been a resident of the Seventh ward for nearly forty years, having been employed in the car shops for the past thirty-five years. As a soldier in the civil war, Mr. Lockard served four years in the Fifty-fifth regiment Pennsylvania volunteers and was wounded twice at the Battle of Bull Run. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Walnut Avenue Methodist church. Besides his wife, these children survive: William H., Thomas R., George W., Benjamin H., Mrs. John Haley of Altoona and Mrs. Alfred Wohner of Reading. Two sisters and brother also survive. They are Mrs. Lizzie Roudebush of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Annie Schultz of Philadelphia and Mr. Joseph Lockard of Collinsville. The funeral will take place tomorrow. Services will be conducted at the house at 2:30 and interment will be made in Fairview cemetery."
