JAMES R. MARTIN
James R. Martin, 90, Burlingame, formerly of Harveyville, died Monday, Aug. 26, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Martin was a retired farmer and stockman. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
He was born June 3, 1895, at Harveyville, the son of Luda Oscar and Julia Ann Wilson Martin, and lived in the Harveyville area many years.
Mr. Martin was a member of Russell Fouts Post No. 209 of the American Legion at Harveyville.
He was married to Lora Arbritta Yeakly Sept. 20, 1947, at Alma. She survives.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bertha Brown, Miller.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Harveyville. Military graveside services will be conducted by Russell Fouts Post No. 209 in Wilmington Cemetery, southeast of Harveyville. Mr. Martin will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. today at Callahan Funeral Home in Eskridge.
