He was born on August 16, 1927 in Cleveland County, to the late Charlie Dennis Parker and Lillie Mae Whisnant Parker. He was retired from Kendall Drug as a buyer. He was a member of David's Chapel United Methodist Church. He served in the US Navy and the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Hettie Sue King and husband Ray.
He is survived by his brother, Morgan Parker and wife Doris of Lawndale; three nephews, Dale King and wife Barbara of Hickory, David Parker and wife Kathy of Lawndale, and Charlie Parker and wife Marsha of Hickory.
Funeral Services will be at David's Chapel United Methodist Church.
The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
