Sad Accident. Preston County Journal. Kingwood, Wv. Thur., July 5, 1923.
Excerpt -- Donald Bailey, 16 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bailey, of Independence, W.Va., was instantly killed last Thursday afternoon about 3:30 O'clock. It is stated that Bailey was riding his motorcycle at a moderate rate of speed down the road near his home, when in some manner the wheel locked suddenly throwing him from the motorcycle to the side of the road. He was dead when picked up, the supposition is that in falling he must have struck his head upon a rock. He was a nephew of Mrs. Geo. A. Herring, who immediately left for Independence upon hearing of the sad affair.
