William M. Gallagher July 17, 1925 - Nov. 22, 2010 passed away peacefully on November 22, 2010. at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Helene V. Gallagher; loving father of Nancy, Julie (Zack), Jim and Martin (Cassi); loving brother to the late Nell (Paul) Merz, Madge and Edward (Virginia) Gallagher. Son of the late William and Julia Gallagher. Uncle to Antoinette (Terry ) McIntyre, Ed, Bill and Joan Gallagher. Bill attended St. Teresa's Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School, Class of 43, San Francisco. Bill had a forty year career in the insurance industry as a commercial underwriter, retiring from Royal Insurance in 1990. Bill was a 48 year resident of San Mateo County, a proud native San Franciscan, and an avid SF Giants and 49er fan. Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil service on Tuesday at 7 PM at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Saint Teresa of Avilla Church, 19th and Connecticut Streets, San Francisco. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. The family has asked that donations be made to Saint Teresa of Avila Church, 390 Missouri St., San Francisco, CA 94107 or to the charity of your choice.
