Alice Loraine Herker, 78, of the 1800 block of Windover Drive, Ankeny, died of kidney ailment Friday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ankeny Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints, with burial at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Herker was born in Madison County and had lived in Ankeny most of her life. She was a retired statistical clerk with Equitable of Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, William of Des Moines; two daughters, Susan Herker and Gwen Herker, both of Ankeny; two sons, Bill of Alexandria, Va., and Bruce of Rexburg, Idaho; two sisters, Mildred Jones and Jonsey Lamb, both of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Smile.
