A memorial service for Robert A. Risinger, 79, of New Albany, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Heartland Church of the Nazarene, 6901 Old Vincennes Road, Floyds Knobs, with burial with military honors in the New Albany National Cemetery. He died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the Waters of Scottsburg Nursing Home.

He was a native of New Albany, an Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired orderly for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, an auxiliary police officer for both the New Albany and Floyd County Sheriff's Police Departments, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean Risinger; son, Robert D. Risinger and his wife, Julie M., of New Albany; daughters, Janet Lackey and her husband, Roy, of New Albany, and Carol Juanita Craig and her husband, Derrick, of New Albany; brothers, Harry E. Risinger, of New Albany, and William Risinger and his wife, Brenda, of Louisville; sister, Virginia Malloy, of Bowling Green, Ky.; 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, June Kneeland and May Consley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. Burial with Military Honors will be in the New Albany National Cemetery.
