Royal C. Abbott died March 24, 1994 in WCCH. He was born in the Town of Eagle August 13, 1921, a son of the late Elmer and Carrie Smith Abbott.
He retired in 1984 from Morton Salt after 17 years. He was a member of St. Mary's, Loyal Order of Moose #560, Wyo. Co. Vets Club, Walter Klein Post, he served with the US Army from Feb. 1941 through July 1945.
He is survived by eight sons, Roy (Sue) of Portageville, James (Elizabeth) of Rochester, Steven (Deborah), Bruce (Penny), John (Vicky) all of Silver Springs, William (Deborah) of Perry, Christopher (Sue) of Colorade Springs, Robert (Tammi) of Dover, DE; two daughters, Cecelia (Vassante) Pai of Roswell, Ga, Julia (Robert) Dennis of Rochester; three brothers, Floyd Abbott of Alabama, William Prial of Gainesville, Harry Prial of Freindship; three sisters, Marian Wright of Rock Glen, Virginia Totsline of Fillmore, Lois Sheldon of New York; 21 grandchildren, and several neices and nephews. He was the brother of the late Irene Frederickson and Leola Buchwald. His wife, Frances Gavigan Abbott died Jan. 13, 1989. Services were at Weeks Funeral Home with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Silver Springs.
