Captiola Pearl "Cap" Abrams, 99, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Sienna Extended Care, Midwest City.She was born in Wilson Aug. 6, 1911, a daughter of the late Abigail (McClanahan) and Horse Merriott.

She spent most of her life in Shawnee. A homemaker, Captiola was very active in Immanuel Baptist Church, Shawnee, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. In her later years as her health failed, she moved to a nursing home where she resided until her death. All of her caregivers referred to her as Happy Cappy.

Captiola is survived by two sons, Walker Abrams of Hot Springs, Ark., and Melvin Abrams and wife Anna of Crestline, Calif.; three daughters, Dorthory Longnecker and husband Bert and Harriett Newton and husband Lyn, both of Hot Springs, Ark., and Nancy Dibler and husband Larry of Choctaw; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Walker Abrams; daughter, Betty Rose Pointer; and two grandchildren, Julie Rose Longnecker and Michael Longnecker .

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, with interment following at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee.
