Mabel R. Armstrong, 98, of St. Francis Woods died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home. Born Aug. 8, 1905, in Dunlap to Frank G. and Anna Best Heinz, she married Arthur O'Connell in [Jan 28] 1925 in Chicago. He died in 1938 in Chicago. She later married Leonard Armstrong in April 1948 in Georgia. He died Jan. 4, 1968, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Surviving are one son, Tom (and Ruth) O'Connell of Dunlap; one daughter, Shirley (and Adolph) Ganion of Pekin; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
