OBITUARY OF HARRIET SAYLES
Akron, Iowa -- Harriet (Hattie) Sayles, 92, died Saturday (March 1, 1980) at the Akron Nursing Home of a brief illness.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Carrol McLaughlin of Sioux City, will officiate.
Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schroeder Funeral Home.
Miss Sayles was born January 9, 1882, in Union County, South Dakota. She resided there with her parents until the death of her father [William Sayles]. They later moved to Akron.
She was a member of the Vesper Chapter #61 Order of Eastern Star of Akron and the White Shrine of Sioux City. She was a charter member of the Chapter J.C.P.E.O.
ANCESTRY: Harriet "Hattie" Sayles is a direct descendant of Roger Williams (founder of Rhode Island), through Roger William's Daughter, Mary Williams, who married John Sayles.
