Amil A. Herker
Amil A. Herker, 79, of 1800 Watrous Ave. died Wednesday at the West Park Care Center, 1211 Vine St., West Des Moines, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial in Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Herker, a retired employe at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, was born in Salem, S.D. He lived in Tekamah, Neb., before moving to Des Moines 60 years ago. He was a member of Auburn Masonic Lodge and Park Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Stifel of Des Moines and Mrs. Virginia Lash of Arvada, Colo.; a son, Amil, jr., of Clear Lake; a brother, William A. of Murray; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
