OBITUARY: MINNIE CATHERINE (STEVENS) JUDY:

Minnie Catherine Judy, the daughter of Edward M.B. and Ella N. Childers Stevens, was born July 18, 1909 in Webb City, Missouri and died May 10, 1999 at the Exira Care Center, in Exira, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 22 days.

She was baptized in the Methodist faith and later became a baptized member of the Brayton Baptist Church. She attended Webb City Community Schools and graduated from the Webb City High School. Minnie was employed in Springfield as a clerk in a drug store and later the W.T. Grant Store for several years. In the early 1930s she was united in marriage to Charles Judy. She attended Springfield Teacher's College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Teaching in 1945.

She taught Elementary School in Springfield for many years, then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she continued to teach at the Brown Park Elementary School until she retired.

She lived in Omaha for several more years until she moved to Brayton where she maintained her home until she became a resident of the Exira Care Center in October of 1995. She was a member of the Brayton Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, were her grandson, Robert Luther Porter; her parents; her brothers: Robert Stevens and Eddie Stevens; her stepmother, Ethel Mae Stevens; 2 stepbrothers and 1 stepsister.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty R. [Porter] of Iowa; her grandchildren and their spouses: Richard and Marlene Porter of Copperas Cove, Texas; Cathy Porter-Maynard and her husband, David Maynard, of Minnesota; Cheri Lynn and Mike Pross of Norwalk, IA; Anita and Martin Mundorf of Atlantic, Iowa; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
