FUNERAL THURSDAY FOR S. G. BROWN
Funeral services for Sam Gilmore Brown, 73, of Harper Heights will be conducted at 2:39 p.m Thursday in the Harper Heights Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Ralph Poole and the Rev. Charles Plybon,.
Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Brown died at his residence at 2 a.m. Monday after an extended illness.
Born at Lewisburg, March 11, 1885, he was a son of the late Renick H. and Alice Brown. He was formerly employed by the Raleigh Hardware Co.
Survivors include his widow, Ruby Smith Brown of Harper Heights; five: sons, Sgt. Lawrence Brown at Fort Knox, Ky.; Master Sgt. Gilmore Brown, stationed in Scotland, Pfc. William Carl Brown stationed in Germany, and James Chester Brown, at home; seven daughters, Mrs. Anna Lee Bailey of Surveyor, Mrs. Ruth Bryant of Mabscott, Mrs. Mary Alice Bonds of Harper, Mrs. May Zimmerman of Harvey, Ill., Mrs. Wanda Gay Lively of Harper Heights, and Vivian and Charlotte Brown, both at home;. a . sister, Mrs. G.C. Boswell of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Ray Brown of Plymouth, N. C., and Lewis Brown of Edgerton, Wis.
Pallbearers include Harless Adkins, Ray Adkins, Leonard Adkins, Earl Mann, Glenn Bowling, and James Snuffer.
The body will remain at the Melton Mortuary until, one hour prior to the services.
