Clarence "Pink" Green, 88 year old Worland resident, passed away on October 30, 2010 at the Washakie Medical Center.



Clarence was born on July 6, 1922 in Hyattville, Wyoming to Charles and Agnes (Durfey) Green. He grew up in Hyattville and attended school there as well as in Manderson. He was employed as a Cowboy on the Dave Allen Ranch at Hyattville, the Bill Spratt Ranch and the Smilo Davis Ranch at Ten Sleep. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Medics during World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater and attained the rank of T/5. He worked for many years as a truck driver during the oil boom in the Big Horn Basin. He was last employed at Fremont Beverage as Trailer Shop Supervisor before his retirement.


Clarence married Ruby Hughes of Gebo, Wyoming in Worland on September 4, 1948 with Reverend R. Goff officiating. They have made their home in Worland since that time with fifteen retirement winters spent in the Texas Rio Grande Valley.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles L. Green and one brother-in-law, John B. Smith.



Clarence is survived by his wife, Ruby of Worland, daughter, Connie (Gary) Sutter of Prairieville, Louisiana, sons: Keith (Sue) of Freehold, New Jersey, and Rick (Joan) of Peyton Colorado; one sister, Louise Smith of Worland. Other survivors include five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


Cremation has taken place. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be to the Frontier Cancer Center in Cody (formerly the Hemotology-Oncology Center) or to the Worland Senior Center in care of Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401.
