He was born on Sept. 6, 1920, in Minnora, W.Va., a son of Samuel and Rose Nell States Bailey. He was a veteran of WWII, serving most of the time as a surgical technician. He received both a Bronze Star and Silver Star.
Donavan is survived by one brother and one sister, William Bailey and Rose "Nell" Lemley, both of Stockport, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday 10 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial at 1:30 p.m. at Minnora Cemetery at Prudence Chapel, W.Va. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning on Friday at 4 p.m.
