Leone ABBOTT, 83, 229 W. Third St., died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Hospital.
She was born in Richland Township to Albert and Ethel NEWCOMB McGRIFF. She was married to Harold C. ABBOTT, who died in 1973. She lived her entire life in Fulton and Marshall counties. She owned and operated the former Abbott's Grocery Store for 35 years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Evergreen Rebekah Lodge No. 57, and was a 60-year member of the Neighborly Club, all of Rochester.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doris LEHMAN and Mrs. Jack (Jane) SUMMERS, both of Rochester; one son, Donald and wife Lois ABBOTT, Rochester; five grandchildren, Shane LEHMAN, Rocheter; Lanae ORBIK, Noblesville, Brian and Todd ABBOTT, both of Rochester; and Kevin ABBOTT, Granger; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) GOHEE, Culver. Preceding in death were one sister, Florence GIBBONS, 1995; and three brothers, Orville, Roy and Ray [McGRIFF].
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester; with the Revs. David C. HOGSETT and Jeffrey S. TAYLOR officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m today and from 9 a.m. through the hour of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. The Evergeen Rebekah Lodge No. 57 will conduct memorial services at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or a favorite charity.
