Margaret Taylor Kerr of Alpharetta, GA passed away March 12, 2007 at Willow Wood Nursing Center, Flowery Branch, Hall Co., GA.

A native of Woodruff, Spartanburg Co., SC, she was the daughter of the late Jonas A. Taylor, Sr. and Annie Mae Poole Taylor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta, GA.

Margaret graduated from Mary Black Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Spartanburg, SC; a registered nurse retiring from nursing in 1986 after 49 years of service. Margaret served her last 12 years of service as nurse epidemiologist at Spartanburg County Regional Medical Hospital System. She was an active member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Woodruff, SC serving as president, and was named career woman of the club in 1985. She was an active member of Chapter 89 of the Association of Practitioners of infection control, and the Infection Control Society of the South Carolina Hospital Association. She was active for many years in the State and District Nurse’s Association.

Surviving is her son James W. Kerr and daughter-in-law, Brady Wooten Kerr of Flowery Branch, GA. Also surviving her are three sisters; Betty Taylor Forrester of Moore, SC, Evelyn Taylor Pettit of Spartanburg, SC and Eunice Taylor Therrell of Atlanta, GA. Preceding her in death were brothers; Homer Benjamin Taylor, Jonas Alexander Taylor, Jr. and James Russell Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at Alpharetta First Baptist Church Saturday, March 17th at 11:00. The body is being donated to Emory University.
