7-30-1862--WYOMING COUNTY MIRROR:
--James Henry Rice, a member of Capt. Wheeler's Company, 5th N.Y. Cavalry, died at Washington, on the 18th day of July. He had enlisted August 28, 1861 from Gainesville, mustering as a private in Company F as per Adj. General recording. His remains were brought to North Gainesville for burial. He was 19 years of age. Burial took place at Lot 42.
