Funeral services for D.O. Williams, 71, will be Thursday, (today) at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Street Church of Christ with Ed Jones officiating. He died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Williams was born December 2, 1913 in Sipe Springs. He and Opal Clark were married September 11, 1938, in Comanche.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired oil field employee, and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Billie Beth Fails of Freeport; five sisters, Ida Bentley and Otha Thornton, both of Comanche, Mary Thornton of Odessa, Edna Mae Smith of Eunice, N.M., and Ila Dean Finley of KoKomo, Ind.; two brothers, Walton Williams of Austin and Joe Williams of Comanche; and two grandchildren.
