Calvin was the youngest son of Stanley S. Smith Sr. and Mabel (Winner) Smith. He was the husband of Anna Caroline (Pidcock) (She was his first wife) He was born and raised in Buckingham Valley, Bucks County. He was a telegraph operator for the Reading Railroad in his early years. He became a carpenter in the early 1960's. He also owned and operated a grocery store in Wycombe, Bucks County. He served in the US Army during WWII.
He was also the stadium and equipment manager at Delaware Valley Collage from 1979-1992. He was a life Member of the Lingohocken Fire Company., and served as chief for 15 years.
He was survived by his second wife, one son and his wife, and one daughter and her husband. He was also survived by two grandsons. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Stanley S Smith Jr.
