OSCAR BEAR
FOUND DEAD
Oscar Bear was found dead Wednesday, November 25, near the Britton schoolhouse. He had left the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.A. Catlin, Tuesday with the intention of going to the home of another daughter, Mrs. Hawkins. Wednesday afternoon it was discovered that he had not reached the Hawkins home and a search was started for him. A son of Mr. Catlin's and a son of Mr. Berry's found the body about 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. A physician judged that Mr. Bear had been dead about 24 hours.
Mr. Bear was about 60 years old and had lived in that section about twenty years and was well known and held in high esteem by all. He was making his home with his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Catlin.
Funeral services were held at Britton Saturday, November 28th, with Rev. Chas. L. Speir of Anadarko, in charge. Interment in the cemetery at Hazel Dell.
