Funeral services for Thurston Hugh Pat Morrison, a widely known resident of Steamboat Springs, were held Saturday at the Methodist church in charge.


Mr. Morrison died on Aug. 23.


He was born in Luray, Mo., Feb. 19, 1893.


He spent his childhood in his native community where he lived on a ranch home and attended public schools.


He was married on Nov. 7, 1915, to Ethel Alice Bende. In 1919 he moved to Corydon, Iowa, where he was the owner and operator of the Auditorium Theater.


In 1921 the family came to Palisade, Colo., where Mr. Morrison engaged in the peach and truck farming business.


He also worked for the Denver & Rio Grande railroad at Grand Junction.


In 1934 the family came to Routt County.


Mr. Morrison in recent years was the custodian of the Routt County court house, and also was justice of the peace and police magistrate.


He was of genial disposition and had many friends in this area.


He was active in the Odd Fellows and Modern Woodmen lodges.


He is survived by his widow, Ethel A. Morrison; two sons, and one daughter, of Steamboat Springs. He also is survived by his father, Edward B. Morrison of Grand Junction; four brothers, Ray N. and Estel Morrison of Grand Junction; Charles Morrison of Cheyenne Wells, Wyo., and Byron Morrison of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Victor Phillips of Kahoka, Mo., and Mrs. Forrest Kerr of Farmington, Iowa.


His father, brothers, and sisters were here for the funeral. All the brothers were accompanied by their wives except Charles. Also present were two nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Morrison and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morrison of Grand Junction, and a niece, Mrs. Frank Cheney of Grand Junction.
