Cooper Rites Held Monday

Services were at 4 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church for Weldon Rayborn Cooper, 61, longtime Olney resident who died in a Dallas hospital Saturday afternoon. Dr. C.W. Bess officiated.
Born January 30, 1915 in Bowie, he was married September 8, 1940 in Graham to Elaine Haygood. He had lived in Olney about 50 years, was an oil field and ranch worker and a member of the Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion and served in World War II in the Army.
Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Lindley of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Hazel Bearden of Eunice, New Mex., and Mrs. Morine Scoggins of Odessa; four brothers, Chester, Lester, and D.J. Cooper, all of Olney, and Bill Cooper of Fort Worth.
Burial was in Restland Cemetery, under direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
