Dr. Gerardo Foronda Lumba, of Petersburg, died Friday, Jan. 13, 1995 He was a native of the Philippines and was the son of the late Atanacio and *Olimpia Foronda Lumba.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He was a retired psychiatrist with Central State Hospital in Dinwiddie and Southwestern State Hospital in Marion.
Dr. Lumba was predeceased by a son, Gerardo N. Lumba, Jr. and is survived by his wife, Grace Navarro Lumba, PhD.; son, Roberto N. Lumba.
; three daughters, Dr. Ellen Guanlao, Maria Luz L. Halliday and Carol L. Thompson; brother Jose F. Lumba; sister, Natividad Quismorio-Sabater; 11 grandchildren, Renato M. Lumba, Judith Lumba-Murphy, Gina Lumba-Tew and Gerardo (Gerry) M. Lumba, III and Mireille, Aimee Jo, Renee, Leah and Dante Guanlao, Francis and Michelle Thompson; great-grandchildren Kenneth Murphy, Matthew Skewes-Lumba and Derek White.
