Ophelia Amanda Russell was born on March 22, 1841, in Huron, Ohio. She had one daughter with Alonzo T Parmelee. She then married Lyman A Dillon on February 4, 1882, in Wright, Michigan. She died on January 29, 1914, in Ransom, Michigan, at the age of 72.

According to her obit, she moved to Michigan at the age of 16. Another obit for her says soon after her marriage to Alonzo, they moved to a farm, where she set up housekeeping, and where she lived until the August before her death. Living with her at that time were her second husband Luman, daughter Cora and her son Hoyt, and daughter Emma.

She and her husband Alonzo were strong Christians. Her service was held by Pastor Crites of the Congregational Church of Ransom.

Her funeral was held at the home of her daughter Frances Parmelee Kroh.

I can't find where Cora is buried, but in the 1940 census, she was a widow living with her son Hoyt and his family at Grosse Point Farms MI.

1837 is another birthdate given. Ophelia "Aphelia" Russell of Ransom Twp. married Alonzo "Parmalee" (Parmelee) of Jefferson Twp. Sept. 30, 1866 in Hillsdale MI.

(Another source: Marriage Date: 30 Sep 1855) On Feb 4, 1882, Ophelia remarried, to Lyman H Dillon in Wright TWP, Hillsdale Co. This gives her birthplace as Huron, Ohio. At the time of her death, her name was Ophelia Dillon. Her death certificate gives her name as "Aphelia Dillon", and her father as "Verius" Russell (my records say "Riverus", with Verius as a nick name).

Address given as 14 South Street, Hillsdale, MI. The certificate says her mother was Amanda Mayfield; I have Maxfield in my records. Cause of death was diabetes, which she had for 10 years. The headstone says "His wife, Amanda O." with no last name. Was her middle name actually Ophelia and her first name Amanda, after her mother?

Amanda HENMAN Mother L F W W age 70 NY (Ophelia's mother, who was widowed (Riverus Russell) May 28, 1862. She remarried to Orlando Henman/Hinman Nov 12, 1865. She was 54, he 73. She also married Lemuel Blount/Blunt May 16. 1876. She was 65; he was 81. Lemuel died in 1879. On this census 1880, her name was given as Hinman.

A family tree on Ancestry has Amanda b. NYC 1811, passing in 1881, with no mention of a burial site, but her mother (Ophelia's maternal Grandmother Melissa Maxfield) they have b. 1781 d. 1864, burial in Doty Cemetery. There she is listed under "Malissa", Find A Grave Memorial 41203476
