After graduating from Yale University in 1888, Henry engaged in the following business. For ten years Henry worked for Moosic Power Company in Scranton, PA. Moosic Power was one of the largest producers of blasting power in the region. Henry's father, Henry Martyn Boies was President of Moosic Power for thirty years. After Moosic, Henry worked for Repauno Chemical Comapny of Boston. Repauno was famous for it's Atlas Power which was used extensively for mining and quarry blasting.
