Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Hayti last Friday afternoon, October 23, for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Wallis, who died at the home of her daughter there on October 21. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Wallis was born October 24, 1868 in Pemiscot county and in 1888 she was united in marriage to J.T. Wallis. Her husband and two of her children preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Clara Brooks of Hayti; three sons, Scott Wallis of Hayti and Wylie and Herbert Wallis, both of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
