William M. "Billy" Thurman, 64, Whitesburg, passed away Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, in an Atlanta hospital
Mr. Thurman was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Fulton County to the late Charlie Thurman and Ludell Clark Thurman
He was U.S Army veteran, a retired employee of Georgia Power Co. and was Baptist by faith

Survivors include his wife, Joice Fuller Thurman; his children, Michelle Duke and partner Terri Rayburn of Acworth, Billie Jo and Wendall Bradley of Bowdon, Charlie and April Thurman of Whitesburg; brother, Brown and Shirley Thurman of Whitesburg; sister, Brenda and Joe Bass of Sharpsburg; also survivng are his grandchildren, Sam and Casey Duke, Stephanie, Amy, and Toby Bradley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Henry and Rev. Gary Brown officiating. The body will be placed in a state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Walter Allen, Steve Burns, Tony Fuller, Dan Driver, Jamie Thurman and Edward . Driver

Interment will follow Carroll Memory Gardens with the Rev. Ralph Williams officiating at the graveside.
The American Legion Post 143 will make the flag presentation.
